Born and raised in California, I really can't complain about the cold winter weather.
But, as a Californian, and like most Californians, I do.
This week on the blog, I've talked about drinking your antioxidants. Now, I'll be discussing the use of antioxidants in your skincare routine.
Ladies, and men, moisturize.
One way to combat dry lizard skin is an good scrub down, and well if you're a coffee drinker like myself, you probably have extra coffee grinds easily accessible.
These DIY projects won't require you to brave the cold and crazy traffic because you probably have all the ingredients at home. And you don't need to purchase a coffee scrub, it's easy to make!
We all know coffee contains caffeine.
Heck, that's why most of us drink it!
But, did you know that caffeine was good for your skin as well?! If you are blessed like myself with dark bags under your eyes, caffeine in your eye cream is your best pal to combat those suckers.
Caffeine is also good for reducing cellulite!
Most facial scrubs on the market either contain apricot or walnut pieces, but coffee is actually a gentler exfoliator than both. Now this recipe can be used for either the face or body but I'll recommend that you stay away from flavored coffee grounds.
- 1/2 ground coffee
- 1/2 cup coconut sugar (if using for face, skip)
- 1/2 cup coconut oil or other plant oil
- couple of dashes of your favorite essential oil (optional)
- Melt coconut oil until liquefied. Let cool and combine other three ingredients. Put Mixture in a container with a lid. Grab a handful and rub in circular motions. Rinse off with water.
