How Coffee Can Help Women Prevent Dementia

COFFEE IS SAVING YOUR MIND

If it weren't for coffee the wheels of progress would grind to a halt, or at least, your morning would be far less satisfying.

Turns out that we can also credit coffee for keeping us alive longer.

In a recently concluded, ten year study on the relationship between caffeine intake and risk for probable dementia, researchers said;

Our findings suggest lower odds of probable dementia or cognitive impairment in older women whose caffeine consumption was above median for this group and are consistent with the existing literature showing an inverse association between caffeine intake and age-related cognitive impairment.

HOW MUCH IS TOO MUCH?

Over six thousand women participated in this self-reporting, decade long study.

The study found that women who consumed more than 261 milligrams of caffeine each day experienced a 36 percent lower risk of being diagnosed with "probable dementia" than those who consumed less than 64 milligrams of caffeine a day.

In other words, have at least 2 cups of coffee a day to keep your mind sharp.

So have a cup or two a day and your brain will thank you.
